Father’s Day Gift Guide & Book Giveaway

*Giveaway is closed. See if you won here.

Father’s Day is just around the corner (I think, I’m not actually sure what day it is -Amber Edit: It’s June 16th geez), so today I’ve put together a guide of random things I’m digging right now. I hope this will help you ladies buy for your fathers and husbands, but really I just want Amber to buy them for me (all of them sweeheart, every single one… but especially the shoes).

1. The Prophets of Smoked Meat ($19.99) – This is the first book by local food blogger Daniel Vaughn. It follows him on his journey to discover the best barbecue in the lone star state. It’s filled with tons of great info on the state of Texas too, even locals will learn a lot. Fair warning: DO NOT READ HUNGRY.

2. Luma Labs Cinch ($50.00) – Luma labs puts out one heck of a camera strap. It allows you carry your camera across your chest and transition into shooting mode with relative ease. If your dude is still using the stock camera strap, he needs this in his life.

3. Thomas Mason Archive Shirt ($168.00) – Thomas Mason has been making fabric for over 200 years, so it goes without saying that they know what they’re doing. For this line, J.Crew went deep back into the archives to find fabrics that are vintage yet timeless. I’ll take 3 please!

4. Allen Edmonds McTavish ($295.00) – I’m an Allen Edmonds fiend, and I have good reason to be. No other shoe brand provides the quality they do at this price point. Double oak leather, goodyear welting on the soles…. yea, this the good stuff. These look killer with a pair of jeans, though if you’re looking for something a little more dressy, you should check out these sick double monks.

5. Chef’s Jar of Jacobsen’s Salt ($45.00) –  This is the gift for the serious home chef. Top chefs around the country are calling it out by name on their menus (check out their restaurant list). It’s the first salt since Lewis and Clark to be harvested from the Oregon Coast. It might just take his dishes to the next level.

I would definitely keep the book for myself but I would impart it is wisdom to my sons. Love following you guys. Can’t wait for our new house to be finished so we can put some of this inspiration to good use.

    Love y’all!

  3. Kelly Means says:

I would give it to my father in law. He’s the meat expert/lover.

  4. I bought an over the shoulder strap for my camera. Best investment ever. What a difference it makes. The salt sounds awesome. Maybe with a gift tag that reads: You are the salt of the earth haha

  5. Oooooh! I want to win! I would give this book to Aaron’s dad. HE LOVVVVVES smoking meats :) He would seriously love this book!

  6. Jennifer Clark says:

I would totally give the book to my hubby. We have a giant smoker in our backyard (it’s really not big enough if you ask him), we have been known to drive to HEB just for meat and well he’s just a darn good cook! Which translates to I’M spoiled and barely cook but am fed well. He would totally dig this.

    Shared on Facebook!

  8. Melissa B. says:

IF I could fight the urge to keep it for myself, I’d give this book to my brother for his b-day (Aug.). He lived in Austin for 5 years and became quite the BBQ aficionado (how could you not!?). He took me to some of the best spots – Snow’s, The Salt Lick, Smitty’s… I love Austin. And BBQ. Maybe I keep the book…

  9. Lauren says:

My husband has this book and he loves it! He even bought the t-shirt that lists all the places visited. I have already scheduled a post for tomorrow that is a Father’s Day Gift Guide with this book as the #1 gift and I would love to link to your giveaway! If that is not okay, please let me know and I am happy to take it down =)

  10. I would love to win the book for my husband! He loves cooking and enters BBQ contests all the time! He would LOVE it!

  11. Tiara says:

I would give it to my step-dad he’s the grill master in the family.
