June Goal Check

It’s mid July, and I’m just now posting about June goals. Really? I’ve been thinking about how this yearly goal thing isn’t working for this season of my life. When I set the goals I thought there might be a chance we would be moving and having a baby. I didn’t realize both would happen so quickly and also simultaneously. Plus I got a job. Did not see that one coming.

So forgive me and let’s not talk about it again.

However, I am loving my monthly challenges with Katja especially since I get to pause from the structural/boring parts of building and think about design. Last month was pattern, and you can read all what I’m thinking about for patterns in the new house. Also did you see Katja’s entry?

It’s seriously incredible. I’m trying to see if I can barter a free plane ticket to DFW for Katja to come and design my house. Think of all the projects and IKEA hacks we can do…just think about it.

This month we are tackling color. Of course I won’t be painting anything since I currently still own a pile of dirt, but I want to start exploring and gathering your opinions on some color choices we are considering. I have a feeling there’s going to be lots of opinions about door/trim color which I can’t wait to hear.

HOLY CRAP that entry is amazing!

  2. Your life really has taken a different turn. I am so happy for you and all the excitement you are experiencing. I know it is a lot of hard work too and looking at your “pile of dirt” it might be discouraging at times, but I just know it will be so wonderful in the end.

And yes, do send me a plane ticket and I will gladly spare with you on the design. Not that you need it, but it would be so much fun :)

Thanks for mentioning my entry :) You rock!!

Haha so December… :) And yes I totally need it!

Life is funny sometimes. I am ready for the meat of the building to happen. Let’s get this place built and start the fun stuff!

  3. You guys rock. I wish I was as dedicated to monthly themes and such. i can barely even write a post these days. When I get home from work, I just curl up in a ball. Completely out of commission. The house is a mess. Nothing gets done. Dinner never gets made. I see these really successful pregnant women who still work hard and get TONS done… and it blows me away. HAha. I’m probably the biggest whimp in existence. I’m excited to see what you do with Color. Happy July!

I can totally relate. Being pregnant is exhausting in every trimester! You m’am are no whimp. You knocked down a wall on your own…enough said. Remember that I’m not the one doing any manual labor on the house, so that makes it a tad better!
