Wallpaper Revisited

So one time like a month and half ago, I was fixated on ordering wallpaper for our living room. I was determined to have it ordered and up within the week. Okay maybe I wasn’t that ambitious, but I wanted to have it ordered. Then I remembered I needed to finish the nursery. Priorities. I just want to take this time to congratulate myself on controlling my ADD long enough to finish up a space.

On to the choices and how y’all voted. All of them are Rifle Paper Co. from Hygge & West because duh. Also don’t judge my photoshopping too much.

Rosas. Probably the boldest choice of all garnered 14 votes. It’s a classic Anna Bond pattern that I’ve loved for years.

Queen Anne. Darkest option but the reflective gold keeps it from being too overpowering in the room. Receiving 9 votes from the internets. The black would hide the tv beautifully and laying art on this wallpaper would be gorgeous. It’s $40 less per roll.

Peonies in Copper. The lightest option in the white room above the white cabinets, but the beautiful bright blue and copper speaks for itself. One vote shy of 1st place coming in with 13 votes.

We ordered the Rosas. I’m slightly nervous about going so bold, but I think it’s going to be absolutely gorgeous in that space especially across from our kitchen. Now is the point in our story that we see how my procrastination saved me lots of monies. I’m sure you’ve all seen Ana Gasteyer’s bathroom. Hygge & West is offering 20% off by entering ManhattanNest at checkout. Boom $110 saved. So thanks Daniel and Hygge & West for being just incredible and saving us money.

Now let’s see what kind of hilarious ensues when we hang this ourselves!!

  1. Good choice. Having met you for 48 hours, that seems like the one that most fits your personality.

Now I want to wallpaper our powder room. Being banned from Wills Casa as I type.

I pretty much radiated this wallpaper during those 48 hours. I feel like wallpapering your powder room is less work than painting your giant living room, so Nate should still be ok with you reading.

YAY! i know you ordered it because it’s what i voted for and i like to think my vote counts for like 20. 😉

  4. I think the color and pattern will look great with the (I hope I’m remembering this correctly?) navy accents in your kitchen!

  5. oh my gosh its going to be so beautiful!

  6. I love the one you went with! I think it will really help tie in your dark island and balance everything…it’s gonna be awesome!!!

  7. Katie says:

So exciting! Between you and Daniel, I can’t get enough of Anna Bond and Rifle and Hygge and West. Can’t GET ENOUGH. Killing it. /meltdown

    • Amber says:

There is seriously so much goodness happening for the walls over at Hygee and West. I make no promises that we can pull off this room as expertly as Daniel did that bathroom, but the wallpaper will at least give us a leg up. Or that’s what I’m telling myself anyway!

  8. Love that choice. I am pretty sure I voted for that one… ? If not, I should have. It will look just amazing. Go bold or go home, right? Isn’t that the Texas slogan? :)

  9. I love your choice! I can’t wait to see it up on your wall! I don’t currently have a need wallpaper but 20% off sounds like a deal I can get behind!

  10. I insist that you hang and post about this wallpaper within one week. Mainly because I love it so much but also because my bathroom has been 75% wallpapered for 4 months and I need the motivation to just get it done already. Love your choice!

    • Amber says:

Your deadlines are restricting Emily. I really nervous about hanging it. How about you come down and show me how it’s done. You’ll be super motivated to finish your bathroom then. #logic

  11. Heather says:

Good choice! Now I want to wallpaper everything in sight. Thanks a LOT.

    • Amber says:

I always want to wallpaper everything. It will be interesting to see if that opinion changes after I actually wallpaper something!

  12. Oooh, I likey. Going to be all kinds of awesome. Wallpapering was kind of easier than I thought…hopefully those are not famous last words since I have lots more wallpapering to do in this house.

    • Amber says:

Well that’s encouraging! I don’t know how we are going to be able to reach as high as we need to, so there’s the first obstacle that I see.

  13. Kathryn says:

Eeek! Great choice. My husband and I wallpapered a few years back and not only did our marriage last through it but we also had some fun doing it. I hope the process turns out well for you!

  14. Gretchen says:

I can’t remember what I voted for anymore, but I love the roses….exciting!!

    • Amber says:

You voted for Rosa or Queen Anne…real non committal of you Gretchen!! You wanted the Cities Toile, but we ruled it out before anyone else had a say 😉

  15. Yes! More importantly, why isn’t it installed yet?! It’s not like you have two small kids… and are becoming a realtor… and stuff. Your fans wait in suspense!

  16. Nicole says:

This is going to look so good!

  17. Sarah says:

Oh I want to see how you style the room with the bold paper!

  18. Hanging wallpaper is up there with things I’d love to try. Like throwing myself off a 40 story building or driving to Texas with my 2-year-old. In other words, good luck. And I’m totally busy and can’t help. 😉

It is a lovely pattern though, and I know it’ll look fab.

    • Amber says:

Yeah I’m totally with you. At the end of hanging the wallpaper it will be glorious just like at the end of driving to Texas with Henry means you’ll be here and make us parent him. All good things.

  19. that is awesome! I’d love to hang wallpaper in our office. can’t wait to see how yours turns out. xo

  20. Anu says:

I can’t wait to see the final result. The paper is so lovely!

  21. Such a beautiful pattern. It is making me drool. Aaron is wondering what I’m looking at. I’m trying to explain that it’s the Channing Tatum of wallpaper.

  22. YAY! Can’t wait to see it :) Any of them would have been beautiful!!! And I may have to get me some swatches to frame AS ART!!

    XO Samantha
